Who here remembers the announcement for Dead Island 2? The reveal came at an appropriate time following the release of the first game and standalone follow-up Dead Island Riptide. The reveal also took place months following the launch of Dying Light which was made by the original team. However, its 2022 and players are still waiting. Despite the success of the first game, the sequel has not made much progress in the years since.
The project went on to bounce from multiple developers and landing on Dambuster Studios (Homefront: The Revolution) in 2019. But, new details has yet to surface since the new team adopted the responsibility. Only publisher Deep Silver reassuring that the game is coming along smoothly. The only real tangible news for Dead Island 2 recent came from Coffee Stain Studios, and it wasn’t even Dead Island 2 but instead Goat Simulator 3.
This week, a new listing on Amazon went live revealing Dead Island 2 box art alongside some new in-game screenshots for the new title. It is likely the announcement would be made at the coming Gamescom showcase next Tuesday. You can view the box art in the image below:
