This past April was a very interesting time for Xbox. Although it is releasing games, a sum of them were available times coming to PlayStation 5. In that month, two titles were added to the platform: Forza Horizon 5 & Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Alongside other titles that shipped in the past few months, Microsoft is facing major turnout financially.
As per the firm’s FY25 Q3 earnings, Xbox was the biggest publisher the whole financial quarter. This comes despite the continued dip in hardware performance. However, Microsoft was eager to take on this new role since 2024. “I think we have a chance of being a good publisher, quite frankly, on Sony and Nintendo and PCs and Xbox,” CEO Satya Nadella expressed then.
Recently, PlayStation Blog published its newest ‘April 2025 top downloads’ for the PlayStation Store and more Xbox titles are leading on the storefront for PlayStation 5 in the North America & Europe. “April saw a lot of action among the top spots. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Forza Horizon 5 broke into the top three for the U.S. and EU PS5 charts,” content communication specialist O’Dell Harmon Jr. writes.
In the US, the top three consists of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Forza Horizon 5, and Minecraft in order whilst the EU lists Forza Horizon 5, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and Minecraft respectively. The US list also shows Call of Duty Black Ops 6 at 7th alongside Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at 11th; 10 & 8 respectively in the EU. Microsoft has at least four of its titles in the top ten for both regions.
And this is not the first example of Xbox leading the charts on PlayStation. Before it, Sea of Thieves was a strong leader for both April 2024 & May 2024. Now with the recent announcement for Gears of War: Reloaded set for August, we can likely see more trends for Xbox on the PlayStation Store later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
