Deltarune Chapter 2 Receives Shadowdrop For Nintendo Switch, Available Now

While Undetale continued under its cult reception back in 2015 with ports to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, the series evolved into something more with its universe expanding to Deltarune. With the first chapter of the series already out, the series plans to deliver more as the titling suggests. However, creator Toby Fox indicates that the process is far from reaching its conclusion, he shares early on.

In 2020, Fox resurfaced to disclose that the property is still well into development with parts two – four underway at the time. While not disclosing much, Fox did, however, provide screenshots for Chapter 2 at the time. This week, Fox finally delivered on his promise and shipped Chapter 2 – at least he did for the PC version. But, the Nintendo Switch version was missing from the equation.

It was not until the Nintendo Direct on Thursday did it reveal that Deltarune Chapter 2 will be launching for Nintendo Switch. You can watch the trailer in the video below:

“The award-winning indie RPG, UNDERTALE, expands the series with a brand new game…in a different world! Create your own avatar, meet strange friends, and jump into the darkness. The first two chapters are free, so what are you waiting for? And more (paid) chapters will come out as soon as we finish them, so keep an eye out! For years!” the description for ‘Deltarune Chapter 1+2’ reads on the Nintendo eShop.

Of course, now with Chapter 2 available, it implies that the wait for the next installment is to take place well beyond into the following year(s). Based on the development patterns of the first two chapters, it might be close to a year+ until word on Chapter 3 is to arrive for the Deltarune series. Furthermore, the only thing left for Deltarune Chapter 2 is the PlayStation 4 version now.
