Although publisher Electronic Arts is recognized for its not so tasteful pursuit for pay-to-win mechanics in its games in the past, the firm appears to be going in a different direction this new console generation. In an interview with IGN earlier this year, the firm commented to put the conscious of the developer ahead of its commercial gains moving forward.

With that, development creativity can flourish and bring new and exciting reveals for future shows. When looking at 2020’s EA Play Live, games like It Takes Two and Rocket Arena are prime examples of the publisher taking chances with more ambitious releases from smaller developers. And now that is to continue later this summer.

In a new announcement on Twitter this Tuesday, Electronic Arts shares that EA Play Live 2021 will be taking place in late July.

As to what is anticipated for the show is fairly limited. But from what is presumed to be there from prior announcements help determine the headcount. For one, the upcoming reworking of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for the latest wave of consoles. The game is scheduled to release this summer, so a showcase is the best place to introduce it.

Additionally, Electronic Arts is also preparing for the release of Battlefield later this fall. So whenever the firm unveils the game officially this spring as promised, we could potentially expect a more specific demonstration this summer as well. DICE went on to clarify that a mobile release is also planned for next year. You can read the full report by heading here.

Are you excited for what is to come later this July?

EA Play Live is to start on July 22, 2021.
