As many can gather from the ongoing support poured into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it can be evidently clear that creator Masahiro Sakurai is occupied in delivering more to the 2018 release. However, this also suggests that his time is not being utilized for another mainline Kirby title as well. Despite the release of Super Kirby Clash followed by Kirby Fighters 2, fans are still awaiting a new entry to drop.
But, that might change fairly soon. According to a statement from Kirby Star Allies director Shinya Kumazaki, it is disclosed that the “next phase” for the IP is on the way very soon. To intertwine with a new finding over on Nintendo’s website in native Japan, it reveals that Kirby: Discover is likely to be revealed.
From the Thursday-held Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announces Kirby and the Forgotten Land. The project is a full-blown 3D platformer that many beloved fans waited decades to see come to fruition. You can watch the reveal trailer in the video below:
“In this new unforgettable 3D platforming adventure, Kirby explores a mysterious world full of abandoned structures from a past civilization. What surprises await the pink puffball?” the description of the trailer reads for an overview for Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Additionally, Nintendo did go on to elaborate further on the unintentional listings from earlier on Thursday. Closing the show is where Nintendo & PlatinumGames revealed the first-look of Bayonetta 3 gameplay alongside a 2022 release window for the project. You can read the full report by heading here.
