For Microsoft, the firm for the past generation has and continues to champion independent creators. Hence the ID@Xbox program: the initiative was one answer to the slow start for the Xbox One era and has proven to be profitable with the program generating more than $1 billion as of 2020 But, the Xbox firm has also collaborated with the likes of Summer Game Fest to host demo events for showcased titles as well.
Additionally, Microsoft has went as far to even incorporate game demos into xCloud later on. Through the service, you can sample a portion of the game without being required to install the test client via your internet. More interesting is a recent report from @_Tom_Henderson_ who shared that Xbox Game Demos would be revealed this week in a unique announcement.
On Thursday, the Xbox Game Demo report is revealed to be true with Project Moorcroft which is a new initiative to reinvent how demos are approached on Xbox.
We’re also revealing the first details of Project Moorcroft, a program that brings the fun and discovery of playing new, curated demos of upcoming games to our Xbox Game Pass members. The program will begin rolling out within the next year, beginning with a focus on providing independent developers from around the world more opportunities to build excitement for their games.

The segment also states, “Participating developers will be able to see how their demos perform, and be compensated, enabling them to bring their creativity to Xbox and reach new audiences with Game Pass.” The announcement also comes alongside Xbox’s plans to activate purchased games to be playable via Xbox Cloud Streaming separate to the Xbox Game Pass library if you are an Ultimate subscriber.
Elsewhere on Thursday, Xbox Cloud Gaming is also breaking its console ties for the first time in the living room. Users will soon be able to stream games on their televisions via the Gaming Hub on Samsung displays. The same can also be said for Samsung Smart Monitors as well.
