While the heavy-hitting releases from Xbox Game Studios like Microsoft Flight Simulator & Halo Infinite are headlining for the Xbox Series X & Xbox Series S in recent weeks, there is an assortment of independently-developed titles that Microsoft plans to showcase. Already, the firm did so when announcing its /Twitchgaming & ID@Xbox showcase earlier this spring.
With the exception of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 which developer GSC Game World decided to retract from the presentation shortly after the event’s announcement, there was a great number of featured games that is on the way to all Xbox platforms one way or another. Guaranteed for all is Xbox Game Pass which Microsoft surely emphasized throughout the course of the show.
In a new announcement on Thursday, the Xbox company announces a second indie game showcase is to be held next week. Of course, Xbox Game Pass is also receiving some news at the Xbox presentation, the firm confirms in the announcement.
During this showcase, we’ll once again feature tons of independent titles, including brand new game announcements from developers and publishers such as Rebellion, Chump Squad, and others. Fans will also get a chance to see the latest and hear from teams working on The Artful Escape, OlliOlli World, Library of Ruina, and RPG Time to name a few – and of course, an ID@Xbox show wouldn’t be complete without some Xbox Game Pass news and announcements! Oh yeah, did we also mention that there will be some live game demos too?
Jessica Ronnell, ID@Xbox Events Manager
For the sake of indie titles, Xbox Game Pass has proven to be a keen pathway for success regarding games users typically wouldn’t purchase. One report told that more than 90 percent of users are more likely to play a game they wouldn’t without the service. A new report more recently told subscribers are likely to purchase more with Xbox Game Pass to ease their curiosity on game unsure to own.
Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program also proves to be a profitable initiative for smaller teams and the Xbox company. In one statement from European program lead Agostino Simonetta, he verifies that ID@Xbox accumulated more than $1.4 billion since its inception. You can read the full report by heading here.
