For the Nintendo Switch, it has proven to be a force not to be wrecked with. As of its latest financial report, over 150 million units has been sold. And the successor is to carry this tradition with the Nintendo Switch 2. Scheduling an in-depth Direct for this April, fans will learn plenty on what the new hardware is capable following the success of the Nintendo Switch.

Currently, there is no confirmation on what can be expected for the new system. Reports indicate that the console is predicted to release later in June this summer. Additionally, analysts have calculated a price point will be teetering into the $400 range also. Ahead of the presentation, Nintendo did reveal a new ‘Nintendo Today!’ app for new on the new platform to be shared on.

From the same Nintendo Direct, Nintendo also revealed a new feature that is coming to Nintendo Switch and will be live at the release for the Nintendo Switch 2 – Virtual Game Card. No more will online purchases be limited as now the option to share with your friends is coming in a future update. You can watch the video below:

“Introducing the virtual game card – a new feature for easily managing purchased digital games, playing games on two different systems, and even lending or borrowing games. Similar in concept to moving physical game cards between systems, virtual game cards make it possible to ‘eject’ a purchased digital title from one Nintendo Switch system and ‘load’ it onto another – whether it belongs to a member of the same Nintendo Account family group, or a second system tied to your account.

“This optional feature allows you to view virtual game cards or eject them from your system. The digital game can also be lent to a Nintendo Account family group member’s system via local wireless connection. Games that you lend can then be played on a Nintendo Account family group member’s system for two weeks, after which the game will be automatically returned to you,” Nintendo describes.

It adds: “This feature will be available on Nintendo Switch starting late April via a hardware system update. Additionally, virtual game cards will also work with Nintendo Switch 2 systems at launch.” Are you interested in the new Virtual Game Card for Nintendo Switch?
