For the major properties that define Sony Interactive Entertainment for majority of last-generation on PlayStation 4, most of the notorious IPs are hitting PC now. In 2022 alone, the firm went on to confirm that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End alongside God of War is to arrive to Steam. Additionally, there is also a SteamDB listing for Sackboy: A Big Adventure which was discovered this week.
More notably on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment, President & CEO Jim Ryan comments on the firm’s extended support to search for new avenues to deliver its first-party experiences to more players. “I’d like to see a world where the games that we make at PlayStation can be enjoyed by many, many tens of millions of people, perhaps hundreds of millions of people,” Ryan said at the time.
To illustrate this venture, a new discovery over on CorporateWiki reveals that Sony Interactive Entertainment is preparing to continue the momentum for more PC ports with a new formal entity, ‘PlayStation PC’. More interesting is that Video Game Chronicles reports several of accounts from eagle-eyes users on Steam witness swapped the publisher for titles from PlayStation Mobile to PlayStation PC premature to this new finding.
Previously, Sony Interactive Entertainment established the acquisition of Nixxes Software: a studio most noted for its work on well-made PC ports. And while the intentions of the firm is left untold, it is clear this new venture for the platform is a priority for the PlayStation company. Later on, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan disclosed to further investigate options for Nixxes Software to explore for its first-party games.
However, this approach was an offer Epic Games attempted to negotiate to Sony Interactive Entertainment. Previously, it was reported that the Fortnite team for $200 million would port roughly 4 – 6 PlayStation exclusive titles. But, the firm did not take the offer then.
