Remedy Entertainment Confirms Control 2 Is In Development

When engaging with the greater Remedy Entertainment franchises like Control & Alan Wake, the Finnish game studio shared it is all intertwined. In a blog post from the team back in summer 2020, it was confirmed to be the ‘Remedy Connected Universe’ came the release of Control’s second expansion, AWE. But, there is more from Remedy Entertainment on the horizon.

In that, the firm shared that a new installment is in the works. Additionally, the same financial report statement then also verified an online experienced dubbed ‘Project Condor’ is also underway within the Control franchise. Not to mention the December 2021 reveal for Alan Wake II underway, Remedy Entertainment remains busy in recent times for sure.

According to the developer in a new blog post, Remedy Entertainment & publisher 505 Games established a new deal with the official announcement of Control 2.

With Control, we leaped into the unknown. We wanted to create something new. Something different and unexpected. A world like no other. Thank you, the audience, for making Control such a success for us. With Control 2, we’ll take another leap into the unknown. It’ll be an unexpected journey. It’ll take a while, but to put it mildly, this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. It’s still early days, but it will be worth the wait.

In an official statement from Remedy Entertainment, CEO Tero Virtala said this: “I’m now proud to confirm that the bigger-budget Control game, also known as Codename Heron, is Control 2, a full-blown sequel to our award-winning game Control.” While the game was shared to be in the works previously, the press release states it is still in the concept stage.

“We are excited to deepen our cooperation with Remedy and continue the success story of Control together. Control is the biggest investment 505 Games has ever made, so it has a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to the whole player community that has made Control such a long-lasting and loved game, and are even more excited to bring out Control 2,” expressed Digital Bros Group/505 Games co-CEOS Rami and Raffi Galante.

Looking beyond just Control & 505 Games, Remedy Entertainment is not done just yet. In a separate publishing agreement with Rockstar Games, the team is working on remakes for Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. You can read the full report by heading here.
