Listen to this Article:

Dating back to January, Nintendo insider Emily Rogers told that Nintendo’s ambitious lineup for 2020 is planning to ship two re-releases from the Wii U before the second half of the year. These projects in particular did not happen to be named specifically, so speculation went underway at the time of reporting.

Titles such as the landmark The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD happened to be one tossed around alongside other lesser desirable properties. But in a bulk of rumors that resurfaced later in January, fans felt to have found strong insight on this year’s plans for Nintendo. One title that did happen to be shared was Pikmin 3 Deluxe. The series not receiving a new entry for the Switch yet seemed the most plausible atop of the trend of mass porting to the platform still in effect at that time.

Now in a new statement made by VentureBeat, the outlet tells that Pikmin 3 Deluxe is in fact preparing for a 2020 release later on. The website has been accurate previously with Nintendo-related rumors, so the likeliness as of yet is confident for now. When reporting today’s announcement for Paper Mario: The Origami King, the outlet shared this:

Other Nintendo studios will have games ready for release soon, as well. That includes the 3D Mario remasters, but it should also include Pikmin 3 Deluxe.

The slew of rumors initially made that emerged in January have proven to be accurate in its own context as time unraveled. We later learned the claims to be true with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX and more recently with Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. The claim also spewed out Wind Waker HD as well, so going off of the current track record, the possibility is high to see that as well in the coming future.

VentureBeat as shown from the statement is still confident on the other rumored 3D Super Mario remasters for the Nintendo Switch too. However, it is entirely unsure where or when these unnamed projects will release since Nintendo is being radio silent this coming summer regarding announcements. VentureBeat previously reported that the firm would be squandering this coming June’s E3-themed Direct.
