Return To Silent Hill Film Gets Lead Casting As Filming To Start Next Month

For those that cannot forget the bevy of announcements that took place this past fall, Konami is stacked with projects circulating around Silent Hill. Firstly, Silent Hill 2 is being remade with Layers of Fear, Observer developer Bloober Team at the helm. Additionally, Konami is also licensing its property to No Code & Neobards Entertainment for Silent Hill Townfall and Silent Hill f respectively.

Not to mention Bad Robot Games & Dj2 Entertainment collaborating with Behaviour Interactive on Silent Hill Ascension. A live experience where players will watch and interact with the show and ultimately decide on the outcome. Konami also revealed 2006’s Silent Hill director Christophe Gans is to return to direct a proper sequel to the film, dubbed ‘Return to Silent Hill’.

In a new report from Deadline, casting for the coming film is finally here with the two leads already hand picked. It is said that Jeremy Irvine (War Horse) and Hannah Emily Anderson (Jigsaw) are to star in the picture. The report confirms Irvine will play the role of James Sunderland whilst Anderson is to portray the late wife Mary.

Alongside directing, Gans is to also write for Return to Silent Hill alongside (15-40). Victor Hadida of Davis Films is to produce on the film alongside Hassell Free Productions’ Molly Hassell (The Crow) and David Wulf (The Card Counter). ‘As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new and begins to question his own sanity as he struggles to make sense of reality and hold on long enough to save his lost love,” the synopsis from the report reads.

Apparently, Silent Hill is not the only IP to receive a new announcement in the coming future. According to a previous statement from voice actor Quinton Flinn, a new reveal is set to be shared fairly soon. Many are anticipating the remake for Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.
