When it comes to the impressive amount of projects coming from Amazon, the firm is not halting on more video game transmedia moving forward. The most obvious is the next season for Fallout which has already commenced filming as of this November. Not to mention the newly greenlit Warhammer 40K series as well with Henry Cavill attached to star & produce. And, Tomb Raider is also being prepared for a live-action adaptation for Prime Video too.
This month, Amazon Prime Video did go ahead with the release of Secret Level. The premise is an anthology celebrating the most impactful video games in the market. IPs like Pac-Man, Mega Man, Armor Core, and God of War are featured in the new series. However, one polarizing episode in Secret Level is for Concord which remained despite the live-service being closed earlier this summer.
In a new report from Variety, Secret Level has been greenlit for a second season at Amazon. The outlet does report via Luminate, the show generated roughly 155.3 million minutes watched or converted into 1.4 million viewers for the entire runtime released.
“SECRET LEVEL is a new adult animated anthology series featuring original stories set within the worlds of some of the world’s most beloved video games. From the creative minds behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS, each of the 15 episodes is a celebration of games and gamers,” the description for Secret Level reads on Amazon Prime.
Currently, details do remain underwraps pertaining to what plans for season 2 will entail. Planned stories and more importantly featured gaming universes have yet to be confirmed. What do you hope will be the next showcased video game in Secret Level?
