For more than half a decade, Stranger Things has evolved into one of the biggest successes for the new form of television in the streaming era. And with the amount of influence for the series, games are to follow in this path. But for the iconic Netflix series, there has been trouble in executing that. Telltale Games did promise a game before its demise right before 2020.
And while Stranger Things 3: The Video Game shipped, it was not what many would hope for. Since then, there has been numeral collaborations with the TV series. To list a few: Far Cry 6, Dead by Daylight, and Rocket League. However, that trend might rest as a new game is on the way for later this fall it is revealed.
From the Meta Quest Showcase on Thursday, Tender Claws & Netflix announced Stranger Things VR. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Last November, Netflix and Tender Claws (Virtual Virtual Reality, The Under Presents) revealed that they were bringing hit series Stranger Things to VR. They also revealed that you’d be playing as Vecna,” it reads. “Yes, Vecna, the embodiment of evil. Hopefully you’re comfortable in the Upside Down, because you’ll be spending some time there, invading people’s minds and conjuring up their worst nightmares as you look to take revenge on Eleven and crew.”
Upon other sought after virtual reality games, Assassin’s Creed teased its first game at the same presentation. In that, Ubisoft unveiled Assassin’s Creed Nexus and plans to do a proper showcase for the title at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward on June 12th. You can read the full report by heading here.
