Assassin’s Creed Shadows Is Shaping Up To Be The Most Mobile-Friendly Release For The Series

Although Assassin’s Creed Shadows should have released already, the game is preparing its soon launch later this week. And, there is plenty to look forward to from Ubisoft on the newest game for the franchise. For players that pre-order Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it is guaranteed that you will be provided access to the first story DLC, Claws of Awaji, in its post-launch schedule.

Thus far, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is reported to be tracking fairly positively for Ubisoft as per its earnings report. For fans that want a story-driven experience solely, there is also a new canon mode which negates all of the branching speech options for a definitive telling for the campaign. Additionally, the game has been releasing premature to its coming release where Ubisoft has warned players to be cautious online.

The latest development for Assassin’s Creed Shadows now reveals that the game will be the most mobile-ready release in the entirety of the franchise. Although select titles have went to platforms like Nintendo Switch, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be the first officially ‘Steam Deck Verified’ release for the series. It made the announcement via an X post.

“Many of you have been asking about Steam Deck.  We are happy to say that we are supporting Steam Deck at launch and are currently awaiting the level of classification from Valve,” Ubisoft shared in the post. “Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be available Day 1 on Steam, with Steam achievements, badges & trading cards and it’s Steam Deck verified! And in collaboration with Xbox, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will also ship with support for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate game library streaming come release. “A new addition to the ‘Stream your own game’ library is emerging from the darkness soon,” the post adds. This has been an ongoing effort by Xbox to integrate purchases into Xbox Cloud Streaming. This is a first for a new release to launch with the feature.
