What’s up, everyone? Today, we will be discussing the most recent rumors that came up on the internet awhile ago regarding the possibilities of Halo 6 having a larger player count than previous iterations.
According to a source on comicbook.com, it says that from a user going by the name of Klobrille on a forum site from resetera.com saying that one of the biggest franchise on Xbox will possibly have high player count. With that said, it is safe to assume that this “big Xbox franchise” could potentially be the next installment of the Halo series Halo 6.
The author’s response to this rumor is that since games like Battle Royale and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds recently breaking records with their new style of gameplay, it wouldn’t be a surprise that companies like Microsoft will try to follow this trend as well. Also, the author goes on stating that the person, who brought this rumor up also has a history of “credible leaks from the past of his name.” After all, this is currently a rumor as of now and it’s best to hold on to it with a grain of salt for the time being.
In my response, when taking at a glance at this rumor, it might seem easy to assume that Halo 6 will end up becoming a Battle Royale clone, with the ability of constantly building a fortress within a few seconds or less and a player count with a 100 vs 100, but my take on it is it won’t come to that and instead take a more Battlefield approach to it with the simple run and gun mechanics with a possible player count up to 40 or 50, and for the way the maps are designed, it can be done so with the forge mode just like in Halo 5. When thinking about it, the Halo franchise had recently took this approach with Halo 5’s  mode Warzone having a player count up to 24. So could this be the next step to either Warzone or the traditional Big Team Battle, or will it be a brand new game mode fresh out of the gate? Personally, I can’t put a finger on what it is actually going to be, but we might learn more about this rumor in the following months leading to E3, so we will just have to wait and see what happens.
