Grasping at the growth in first-party excitement from Xbox Game Studios, it is a surprise the amount of fans that are looking forward to projects from Microsoft’s video game division later on. Of course, Halo Infinite is set to release later this December, but there are other notable titles underway which has yet to be expanded upon yet. From the recent Nvidia GeForce Now leak, it does shine a light on the enigma of unannounced properties for Xbox.

From Windows Central, the outlet elaborates on the codenamed projects and injects details on the unnamed titles. Starting off with pre-existing announcements, entities such as Project Typhoon that is said to be Avalanche Studios’ Contraband. Alongside that is Project Holland from Playground Games being the upcoming Fable game. Additionally, Forza Horizon 5 is also dubbed Project Woodstock, the publication confirms.

Which leads to the unfamiliar as other codenamed titles are left with more questions than answers. Namely, Project Indus for starters: developer Oxide Games responsible for Star Swarm & Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation is said to be working on a similarly-structured real-time strategy game. Although context on how the game is to be presented is lacking, the report flags the project to be parallel to how Civilization plays as you conquer and build settlements.

Then moving onto Project Cobalt, the codenamed title is said to be the long-suspected first-person shooter, RPG from InXile Entertainment. While noted for working on the Wasteland series, one job listing indicated the team is moving to new territory with the coming project. Furthermore on the unannounced game is to be utilizing Unreal Engine 5, a separate job posting tells.

What is currently known about Project Cobalt is that the game is a spin on the Steampunk/Victorian era. From InXile Entertainment’s concept artist Aleksander Danilovac, his artwork further identifies the direction of the game’s setting. It is also said that Project Cobalt is planned to face a 2023 release date later on.

As you can guess, there are other planned projects underway in cooperation with Xbox Game Studios and the greater Bethesda subsidiary as well. For Xbox Series X|S, it is already confirmed that Bethesda Game Studios is working on Starfield alongside Arkane Studios crafting together Redfall. There is also the alleged IO Interactive ‘Project Dragon’ as well which Eurogamer corroborated to be accurate.

From other Microsoft subsidiaries, Obsidian Entertainment is still working on two IPs – Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2. While the first is a new installment altogether, the latter is a sequel to a current multiplatform series. In that, a report from Gamasutra reveals that Private Division which published The Outer Worlds is not publishing the follow-up, but instead is Microsoft suggesting the second game to be an exclusive.

From developer Mojang Studios, the team is told to be working on other Minecraft-related projects outside of the titular release and recent Minecraft Dungeons. With the renaming of the team to plural “Studios”, the team elaborates that more is involved for the developer outside of Minecraft. You can read the full report by heading here.
